Museum Response: "The Discipline of Nature: Architect Alfred Browning Parker"

Alfred Browning Parker has an immense and diverse oeuvre consisting mainly of his plans for houses because he's an architect but man was I gobsmacked by the intricacies of the miniature cypress model houses. Parker's buildings are always interlaced with their environment and generally open space homes with natural elements that are inspired by other modernists architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright (see Falling Water), Louis Sullivan, and Henry Hobson Richardson. Parker's buildings utilized the land and surrounding environment in order to work hand in hand with each other instead of having to manipulate the land to fit the home. His work began to gain traction post World War 2 and he was commissioned to work for celebrities amongst  other projects such as Miami Arena and Bayside Marketplace.
